"ミッドセンチュリー" (世紀中現代風)
本月號特集是「中世紀」— 字面意思就是「世紀中葉」。換句話說，它指的是誕生於1950年代二戰後經濟蓬勃發展的美國文化和風格。這是一個一切都光鮮亮麗的時代，不僅是建築物、室內、時尚和汽車等設計和風格，就連休閒及旅遊文化也變得司空見慣。此外，還引入了「水星計劃」和噴射式客機，這個時代的特點是各種產品都意識到這些設計和品味。這種具有「世紀中現代風」特色的風格據說起源於美國，也傳播到歐洲，並在世界各地持續發展。
 
當時的風格至今仍然流行，也是《Lightning》所追求的。因此，我們在深掘當時文化的同時，亦介紹沉浸其魅力中的時尚界人士的收藏和想法。我們將展示各種中世紀物品：從內裝、汽車、時裝到雜貨如時計等。我們還特地到沖繩取材，那裡仍然保留著當時的美國風格。從復古到最新，我們將介紹最接近美國中世紀的沖繩風格。還有中世紀英國和法國風，和美國截然不同，非常有趣。
 
“Mid-Century” 
This month's special feature is "Mid-Century”, literally means "the middle of the century." In other words, it refers to the culture and style that was born in America in the 1950s, when the economy was booming after World War II. This is an age when everything is glamorous, and not only the design and style of buildings, interiors, fashion, cars etc., but also the culture of leisure and travel which had become common at that time. In addition, the “Mercury Project” and the introduction of jet engines to airplanes were introduced, and this era was characterized by the design and taste that took these into consideration into various products. This characteristic mid-century style is said to have originated from the United States and also spread to Europe, and has developed in many countries around the world.
 
The style of that time is still popular today and is something we at Lightning aspire to. So, while delving into the culture of the time, we introduce the collections and thoughts of people in the fashion industry who are immersed in its charm. We will be showcasing a wide range of mid-century items, from interiors to cars, fashion, and miscellaneous goods such as watches. We also covered Okinawa, where much of the American style from that time still remains. From vintage to the latest, we will introduce mid-century Okinawan style, which is the closest to America. Moreover, we will also introduce mid-century British and French styles, which is very different from America's, and is very interesting.
